Bill Daye is the founding and managing partner of Daye & Partners. Bill brings over 45 years of experience and expertise in accounting and taxation.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from the University of British Columbia and attaining his CA, Bill joined a large national accounting firm where he practiced until 1991. In 1991 Bill established Daye & Company, where he was able to offer his experience with financial, organization and management matters with his clients. Following the merger of Daye & Company with a national accounting firm, Bill left to start Daye & Partners.
Bill has had numerous professional affiliations throughout the years with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta (formerly Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta), Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia ( Formerly Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia), the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and as such has continued to maintain his high technical and professional standards within the accounting profession.
His areas of expertise include a specialization in corporate reorganizations, agricultural tax matters, estate succession planning, and appeals with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Bill’s focus on teamwork and making a difference in the community has been demonstrated throughout the years with service on the boards of the Edmonton Big Sister Society, Big Brothers & Sisters of Edmonton, Edmonton Police Commission, Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC), and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Extensive experience with private enterprise clients in a variety of sectors including Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Agriculture and Investment Holdings.
Privatization of publicly-held companies as well as assisting with the purchases and sales of a vast range of businesses.
Re-organizing of share ownership, inter-generational transfers, estate planning, and “butterfly” transactions.
Tax planning covering a wide range of issues including public offerings, takeover bids, expansion of international operations, acquisitions, divestitures and cross-border tax planning.
Estate planning on both a pre and post-mortem basis to minimize taxes for the estate and beneficiaries.
Assisting clients with tax authority audits and assessments, including filing Notices of Objection.
